For this week's interview as part of the series 'Know a Member' we have Mr. Rajeev Ranjan. Please continue reading below to know what he has to say. 1. What was your biggest take-away from the training at IIT? Response. Training at IIT gave me a lot. Some of the take-aways are the self-confidence and passion to do something bigger in life. IIT will provide the platform on which I can cherish my dreams to excel in my field. 2. What is your dream? What do you want to be in 15-20 years from now? Response. Haven't yet thought of my position in 15-20 years from now, but yes my dream is to excel in my field to a level where I can effectively contribute to the society and my nation at large. 3. What has been your most memorable experiences in Korea? Why? Response. Celebrating the major festivals like Diwali and Holi with the students at SNU have been my most memorable experiences in Korea. The reason is being so much away from home still we celebrate our festivals together. 4. Do you mind sharing some personal likes and dislikes in Korea? Response. My personal like in Korea is people are hard-working and disciplined here. But they are not so open towards others which I don't like. 5. What are your expectations from this alumni association? Response. I think alumni association is doing good job in bringing the people sharing common IIT experience together. I expect the association would grow big and do some bigger task in future through which we can show our significance to the society. 6. Any other thoughts? Response. Chase the dream but don't leave the family and friends behind. Take care of health and enjoy the life. ![]() Rajeev Ranjan is currently working in the area of design exploration and design rule development for advanced technology nodes(10nm, 7nm) in Samsung Semiconductor R&D division. His area of interest includes digital IC design, standard cell architecture development in deep sub-micron technology and nano-scale silicon devices. He received his B.Tech degree in 2012 from IIT Roorkee and M.S degree in 2014 from Seoul National University (SNU), Korea. He is the recipient of Samsung GSP-SNU scholarship to pursue his M.S from Seoul National University.
