While we wish that our members stayed with us for a longer term, it's very common to see many professionals (not only IIT graduates) leave Korea only after a couple of years. Our members have either transitioned to a new job or have gone back to school for a degree. We wish them all the best!

Sudhakar Sah is a Researcher having more than 10 years of Research experience in the field of Parallel Computing, GPGPU based massive parallelization, Computer Vision and Machine Learning. At present he is working on the frontier technology (Deep Learning) to solve problems related to Computer Vision in Samsung SDS R&D center in Seoul. He has filed for around 10 patents (3 granted) and published more than 15 research papers. He has a PhD degree in Computer Science from Symbiosis International University and Masters in Technology from IIT Delhi. He is also pursuing Photography as a serious hobby these days.

Manish Kumar Agrawal received his Masters (2009) and PhD (2014) in Mechanical Engineering from VJTI Mumbai and IIT Indore, respectively. He belongs to Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India. Currently, he is serving as Senior Researcher in the field of Nuclear Thermal Hydraulic and System Safety at Environment and Energy Technology Inc., Daejeon, South Korea. He has authored over 11 research papers in reputed international journals and conference proceedings. His current research interests include the thermal hydraulics and multi-phase flow analysis of nuclear reactors. His hobbies includes singing, cooking and travelling to explore observatories.

Kumar Hemant has 10+ years of experience in R&D, Analytics and Software Engineering. He holds master in mathematics & computing from IITG and working with Samsung DMC R&D Seoul Campus. Previously he have worked with Julich Supercomputing Center, Germany; InfosysLabs (SETLabs) Bangalore; and IBM Research Singapore.  Hemant, a recipient of prestigious Helmholtz- DAAD scholarship, has 6 research/technical papers and 3 patents to his credit.  Hemant is an avid mountaineer and have scaled two virgin peaks in the Himalayas (5300m/17600ft) in the vicinity of Adi Kailash / Ohm Parvat. Also trained in Hindustani classical Violin, in his leisure loves playing mouth-organ.

Ashish Singh Chauhan is post doctoral fellow in lab of Prof. Sunghoon Park, Pusan National University, Busan, South Korea. He has Ph.D degree (in 2015) in Biotechnology from IIT Madras, Chennai. His research area is metabolic engineering and bacterial fermentation. He has done work on Hyaluronic acid production in Lactococcus lactis during his Ph.D programme.

Rajeev Ranjan is currently working in the area of design exploration and design rule development for advanced technology nodes (10nm, 7nm) in Samsung Semiconductor R&D division. His area of interest includes digital IC design, standard cell architecture development in deep sub-micron technology and nano-scale silicon devices. He  received his B.Tech degree in 2012 from IIT Roorkee and M.S degree in 2014 from Seoul National University (SNU), Korea. He is the recipient of Samsung GSP-SNU scholarship to pursue his M.S from Seoul National University.

​Satish Kumar Bonthu is Senior Applications Engineer in the Product Delivery Team of CD-adapco [www.cd-adapco.com] Korea. He supports company's major clients (Hyundai Motors, Samsung Electronics,LG Electronics etc.) as Technical Specialist providing solutions to Aero-acoustics related problems of clientele. He is the member of KSNVE (Korean Society of Noise & Vibration Engineering) and he has published some of his work in both Korean Journals (ASK, KSNVE) and International Journals (AIAA, SAE). He received his Masters (2009) from Applied Mechanics Department, IIT Delhi. He worked on Telecom Infrastructure Projects aimed for mobile connectivity of remote areas in Uttar Pradesh after he completed B.E (Mechanical) from Andhra University in 2004. He is interested in new technologies and avid lover of futuristic projects. He have vested interests in entrepreneurial opportunities for manufacturing based Start-ups in South Korea. He is believer of 'giving' and supporting girl education for some poorest of poor families in Western India.

Jalaj Jain spent most of his career in video signal processing, hardware design, understanding the Indian stock market and internet startups business model /valuation. He did his Masters in Micro-electronics from IIT-Madras, India. He wishes to continue his career full time in startups and stock market going forward as life is too short to spend time on mundane things.

Abhishek Gothi received his M.Tech. degree in VLSI from IIT Roorkee in 2006. At present he is working  in standard cell development and validation group in Systm LSI Group which comes under Samsung semiconductors division. His areas of interest include deep submicron technology and low power designs. Before joining Samsung he worked for Freescale in Standard cell Design and ASIC design.

Upender Singh Rawat completed 5-year Masters Degree course in Physics from IIT-Kanpur in 1995. He then joined Indian Foreign Service in 1998 and thereafter served in Indian Diplomatic Missions in Argentina, Slovakia, UK and Mexico. From 2002 to 2005 he served in the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi in the Consular Division. Since January 2014 he serves the Indian Mission in Seoul as its Deputy Chief.

Shashi Maudgal is President, Novelis Asia. In this role, he provides leadership for Novelis as the company grows in Asia. Prior to joining Novelis in 2012, Mr. Maudgal was Chief Marketing Officer for Hindalco Industries Limited, an Aditya Birla Group company. He built and led the company’s marketing department, led the European due diligence process during Hindalco’s acquisition of Novelis in 2007, and served as a member of the executive leadership team in setting strategic direction. He was a member of the Aditya Birla Group's Business Review Councils for Grasim Viscose Fiber and Ultratech's Birla White Cement. Shashi holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a Master’s of Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He has also done the Advanced Management Program from Harvard University.

Atin Tomar is Director of Business Development, Alliance & Program Management and a member of the Leadership Team at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI). IVI is an international nonprofit organization created as an initiative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for development and introduction of vaccines specifically for people in the developing countries. Atin completed B.Tech in Biotechnology and Biochemical Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, MS in Biological Engineering from the University of Georgia, USA and MBA from ISB, Hyderabad.

Sandeep Durbhakula is a senior system SW engineer working on middleware for a specific HW module, a parallel Computing Unit for Graphics Processing (widely known as GPU). After graduating from IIT Kanpur in 2007, he started his career with Nvidia, US based computing HW design company and then joined Samsung recently. On the personal front, he is very emotional, his thoughts are highly humanitarian and he takes pride in "giving back" in whatever way possible.

Chandra Shekhar Dhir is currently the research director of Enswers Inc. (KT Affiliate) providing digital contents identification solutions to over one hundred customers. He is the inventor of patented multimedia matching algorithm which finds unique patterns in audio. Several commercial applications use the architected algorithm and has millions of downloads worldwide. He received his B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2002, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Bio and Brain Engineering from KAIST in 2006 and 2010 respectively. He is author of 10 registered patents, 4 articles in SCI journals, and several conference papers. After completing his doctoral studies at KAIST, he joined LG Electronics, Seoul, Korea, as a Senior Research Engineer where he was awarded the global techno innovator award in 2010. His main research interest focuses on advances in deep learning research and its application to sequence labeling tasks like speech recognition and household energy disaggregation using recurrent networks.

Manish Soni received his B.Tech and M.Tech. Dual degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT-Madars in 2004 and was one of the very few from his batch to join core engineering job. At present, he is working as Manager in Process Engineering Team in Daelim Industrial co. ltd., Seoul and his role is to execute process engineering design for Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) turnkey Oil & Gas industry projects and proposals. He has expertise in development, simulation & optimization of plant process schemes and chemical process engineering design of Refinery and Petrochemical projects. Before joining Daelim, He worked with Lummus Technology, a CB&I company (Gugraon, India), Samsung Heavy Industries (Geoje, Korea) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Baroda, India). He likes to play Badminton and travel different places around the world.

Sandeep Gupta is currently working with Cadence Design Systems, a leader in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) world. After doing his B. Tech in Electronics Engineering from IIT BHU Varanasi, he joined Freescale Semiconductor India and worked there on several chip designs for around 8 years. He has 3 publication on his name. His area of expertise is VLSI design, back end implementation.

Nalli Subramanyam is currently working on implementation of advanced Wi-Fi standards in Samsung mobile and computing devices in collaboration with Wi-Fi alliance and other industry members. He leads the Wi-Fi driver and Firmware team for one of Samsung flag ship models. He graduated M.S from IIT Madras in 2004 and B.Tech from S.V University,Tirupati in 2001. He is actively involved in implementing/educating latest agriculture technology benefits to farmers for improving their financial positions.  He also educates them  with best available post harvesting facilities available in Andhra Pradesh to reduce their wastage and get better price for their produce.

Rajib Mahapatra is currently working in Graphics R&D team, Samsung HQ. Prior to Samsung, he worked in NVIDIA, ST-Ericsson and Intel in the field of Graphics, Linux device driver and embedded domain. He is masters from IIT-Kharagpur and belongs to a small village of Jhargram subdivision, West Midnapur, WestBengal.

Shubha Maudgal is MS Chemistry from IIT Delhi (1979 silver medallist) and PhD from IIT Powai (1983). She worked for 15 years in the field of high temperature resistant polymers at NASA, USA (83-84), BTRA, Mumbai (84-86), Johnson and Johnson, Mumbai (86-92), Aeronautical Development Establishment, DRDO, Bangalore (92-96) and National Physical Laboratory, U.K. (96-98). She then joined Cancer Patients Aid Association in 1999 and has risen to the post of Executive Director in the well respected NGO supporting cancer related causes. At CPAA, she initiated unique programmes such as one on one counseling at OPDs in hospitals; easy to understand brochures for patients explaining various types of cancer and treatment; training programme for laypersons wishing to volunteer; advocacy programmes to promote cheaper drugs and anti-tobacco; research on psychosocial issues related to cancer and also set up one of the first interactive websites as early as 1999. In Seoul, she continues to work long distance answering queries on the CPAA website (cancer.org.in) and also conducts psychosocial research on issues related to sisters of breast cancer patients at Seoul National University Breast Cancer Surgical department.

Rohit Singh Gautam received Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (Satellite Image Processing & Machine Learning) from IIT Roorkee in 2008. He was among two researchers selected from India for Samsung Global Internship Program. After completing his Ph.D., he joined Samsung HQ, South Korea and currently he is working there as Senior Engineer in R&D Planning Group. He is reviewer of many international journals and has published several keynote research papers in reputed international journals & conferences in the area of Satellite Image Processing, Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning. For his exceptional achievements, his biography was published in 28th Edition of Who's Who in the World 2011.

Abhishek Sinha worked as a software engineer in the Big Data Platform Development Team at Samsung Electronics, Korea. His project involved building a distributed system for real-time analytics. He graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi in 2014. His hobbies include travelling, playing tennis and reading non-fiction books especially those falling in the biography and economics genre.

Devendra Chaplot graduated from IIT Bombay in August 2014 with B.Tech in Computer Science and joined Samsung Electronics as a Research Associate in Software R&D Centre. He is passionate about research in areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. He was awarded Honorarium from IIT Bombay for outstanding research work and 3 scientific publications during his Bachelor degree. He will be joining Carnegie Mellon University for his Masters degree in August 2015. Apart from research, he enjoys travelling, sketching and film-making. He was also featured as lead actor in Tata Sky Commercial for National Television.

Atul Singh Minhas received his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering (MRI applications) from Kyung Hee University, in 2011. Prior to that, he did his Masters from IIT Madras in 2006. While working at Kyung Hee University after his PhD, he was scouted by Samsung Electronics for their newly established Health and Medical Equipment Business. He joined their MRI development team as Senior Engineer (R&D) since July 2011. His contributions at Samsung include MRI Electromagnetic Coil Design, MRI system software development, and Clinical research in Cardiovascular and Neuroimaging. He is member of the Editorial Board of the journal “Critical Reviews in Biomedical Engineering” and has published several papers in international journals. He has made podium presentations in international conferences held at Austria, USA, UK, Canada and South Korea. He is fluent in Korean Language and currently a temporary resident of South Korea

Girija Aathalye-Magarkar is a User Experience Designer. She was working with the Next Generation Interaction Lab, Software R&D team at Samsung Electronics. She is a post graduate form Industrial Design Centre, IIT Bombay and has a bachelor degree in Architecture. Her hobbies include travelling & observing people, writing & generating new ideas. She has designed board games for children which are sold by Funskool.

Goutham Raj Graduated from IIT Kanpur form department of Material Sciences and Engineering in 2013. He married Sandhya in August 2014 and living in Korea with his wife. He is currently in his final semester of masters at Kyung Hee University, where his major topic of research is Organic Solar Cells and Perovskite solar cells. His interest in research lead him to join as a doctorate research scholar in Technical University of Dresden, Germany starting from Oct. 2015.He is always passionate about starting his own company or industry about solar cells. He is enthusiastic towards sports and was a institute athletics team member during his stay in kanpur. He loves Himalayan trekking, he also visited few famous peaks in Himalayas at a height of more than 5500 mts. One of his wish is to finish Mt. Everest trek. Overall his ultimate goal is to have own bussiness in manufacturing solar cells which is cost effective and environmental friendly.

Nikunj Saunshi is with the DMC R&D Centre at Samsung Electronics, South Korea, where he is currently working on Performance Optimization. Earlier, he represented India in the 42nd International Chemistry Olympiad 2010, Japan and was awarded a Silver Medal. He then completed his B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Bombay. Apart from academics, he loves both, listening to and playing music and is also interested in sports activities and hiking.

Arya Choudhury completed his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2014, and is currently a member of Samsung Global Strategy Group. He works closely with C-level executives at different Samsung subsidiaries to help set the strategic direction for the company. He is currently helping the CEO of Samsung SDS plan the product strategy for entering the Unified Communication and Collaboration space. Prior to his MBA, Arya worked as a Project Manager at Procter and Gamble (India), where he was responsible for building a new manufacturing plant for producing female sanitary products.

Prudhvitej Immadi is working on Smart Building Solutions at Samsung Electronics. He majored in Electrical Engineering at IIT Bombay. Earlier, he represented India at the 42nd International Physics Olympiad, Bangkok and was awarded a silver medal. He also was All India Rank -1 in IIT-JEE, 2011. When not at work, you can find him playing football/badminton or reading a book or traveling around places.

Pawan Nagwani graduated from IIT Bombay in 2014 with a B.Tech in Computer Science and is since then working as a research associate in Software RnD Center at Samsung HQ. Rohan Prinja is part of the Web Platform Group in the Mobile Division, where he writes code for Samsung's Android phone browser. He is passionate about open source, free software, web development and computer graphics. He enjoys learning new languages, discovering music and travelling. Prajwal A N is currently a software engineer at Samsung Electronics where he works on the Tizen Operating System.
